Visitors Book

May 2018

We have loved our stay at The Potting Shed. We have visited Hole Park Gardens, Ightam Moat and the coast. We also enjoyed the Sunday carvery at The Bull and found the local Community Shop very handy. The lovely extra touches of the country trug of goodies and beautiful flowers in every room is wonderful. Your gardens are so beautiful and a testimony to all the hard work you have put in over the years.
We would love to come and stay again. Thank you so much.

We found Canterbury was fascinating and drove to Whitstable afterwards. We loved Rye and Sandwich. Of the many National Trust properties we enjoyed Sissinghurst Castle, Bodiam Castle, Chartwell and Ightam Mote, as well as walking along the White Cliffs of Dover. February 2018

Thank you for a perfect break. Every view is like a paining at The Potting Shed and its been the peaceful break we needed. Sitting reading in the summerhouse, watching the birds as we eat our breakfast. We have explored Benenden, Smarden and Rolvenden Motor Museum – with £3.50 anyway! Waking up to the sound of birds and looking out across your magical garden will stay with me for a long time.

August 2017

We visited Great Dixter and Sissinghurst Castle, we travelled on the KESR & visited Bodiam Castle, we travelled on the RHLD & visted Dymchurch & Dungeness. We sought haunts familiar to the artist Paul Nash in Dymchurch and Rye and took lots of photographs. Rye Art Gallery is a must, Rye has a multitude of very good places to eat, including ‘The Fig’ opposite Rye Art Gallery.
People come and go in each others lives, some add and some take away. In this increasingly troubled world, thank you for adding to our lives.

November 2016

Our visit to The Potting Shed just whizzed by, There are so many options within a short drive! We visited the Morgan Museum in Rlovenden,, quirky and fabulous, the De la Warr Pavilion in Bexhill and the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings – a world class gallery not to mention the delights of returning at the end of the day to the calmnesss of your garden and The Potting Shed. The Turner Gallery in Margate and the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne are among the places that beckon.

November 2016

Again just spent much of the week relaxing but took the opportunity to explore Rye with its’ cobbled streets, wander around Benenden, Cranbrook with the windmill open to the public and nearby villages. So good to get back to the Potting Shed except the 2 donkeys are now replaced by half a dozen mixed breed sheep. We enjoyed our own summer house and wandering around your garden. The cottage is beautifully presented and impressively clean throughout, ( difficult in a timber framed building!)

THE NAME OF THIS PLACE SHOULD BE BEN EDEN AND ADAM AND EVE DID`NT LEAVE SINCE THE 8TH DAY, THEY STILL CREATE BIRDS, MAMMALS, FLOWERS AND TREES. BUT WE QUESTION OURSELVES ABOUT ALL OF THOSE SHEDS, PATHS, GATES, VEGETABLE AND HUNDREDS OF DETAILS EVERYWHERE. ARE THEY ALSO ADAM AND EVE`S OR ARE THEY KAA`S TEMPTATION RENEWED ?? WHOEVER CREATED SUCH A POETIC PLACE, LET US THANK THEM SO MUCH.

Thank you Charlotte and Donald for letting us share this wonderful haven of peace, quiet and tranquility away from the mad, befrazzeld world. We were able to relax in the garden and visit so many wonderful places not too distant from here, Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Dungeness to name but three. The Steam train from Tenterden to Bodiam is a must with a castle at the end and a friendly pub for a meal.. We can also add The Farmers Market in Rolvenden, Cricket on the village Green and Morris dancing at the Bull.

April 2016

This is our second visit and it felt like coming home. Charlotte had the house full of beautiful flowers and a welcome basket. Checking how things had grown, visiting the summer house and walking in the gardens. The new village shop is worth a visit for bread and newspaper and a good selection of wine. The Bull still does the steak and kidney pudding and rather good wine by the glass. Go around the back of the church and you get a fantastic view that seams to go on forever. Farmers market on Thursday in Rolvenden  Hopefully we will be back again next year.
